Trou-aux-Biches sits on the calm north-west lagoon, a quieter alternative to Grand Baie with the same easy road access to the island's northern attractions. The branch is close to the public beach and the row of guesthouses and small hotels along the coast road, with straightforward free parking nearby. From here it's a short hop to Grand Baie's restaurants and nightlife, or north to Cap Malheureux and the picturesque red-roofed church at the island's tip. The roads north are flat, well maintained and easy for first-time visitors to navigate. Snorkelling boat trips depart directly from the public beach a few minutes' walk from our counter, making an early pickup and a morning on the water an easy combination.
